The spoke person of the CPN (Maoists) Krishna Bahadur Mahara has outrageously criticized the remarks of US Ambassador to Nepal James F Moriatry. US Envoy had yesterday warned that his country would not support a Maoist-inducted government if the CPN (Maoists) continue its spree of kidnapping, intimidation, extortion and murder.

"At a time when the peace process is gaining momentum, the remarks of US envoy is fraught with sly and conspiracy to sabotage the peace process," alleged Mahara, who is also the coordinator of the Maoists’ talks team. Similarly, standing committee member of the CPN (UML) Bamdev Gautam has also opposed the remarks made by US envoy. Addressing a program organised in Kathmandu, Gautam termed the remarks of US Envoy as a ploy to shatter the ongoing political process.

नेकपा माओवादीका प्रवक्ता एवं माओवादी वार्ता टोलीका संयोजक कृष्णबहादुर महराले अमेरिकी राजदूत जेम्स एफ मोरियार्टीले दिनुभएको अभिव्यक्ति नेपाली जनताको विरुद्धमा रहेको बताउनुभएको छ। प्रवक्ता महराले नेपालमा शान्तिपूर्ण राजनीतिक प्रक्रिया अगाडि बढिरहेका बेला त्यस्तो प्रतिक्रिया आउनु नेपाली जनताको विपक्षमा रहेको बताउनुभयो । महराले अमेरिकी राजदूत मोरियार्टीले बुधवार एक कार्यक्रममा दिनुभएको अभिव्यक्तिप्रति पुनर्विचार गर्न पनि आग्रहसमेत गर्नुभएको छ ।
राजदूत मोरियार्टीले माओवादीले हतियार नत्यागेसम्म माओवादी सम्मिलित अन्तरिम सरकारलाई अमेरिकाले समर्थन गर्न नसक्ने बताउनुभएको थियो । साथै राजदूत मोरियार्टीले माओवादीको गतिविधि शंकास्पद रहेको भनी टिप्पणी गर्नुभएको थियो । माओवादी प्रवक्ता महराले आफूहरुले यो भनाइलाई राजदूतको निजी धारणाको रुपमा लिएको बताउनुभयो । प्रवक्ता महराले अमेरिकालाई संविधानसभा मान्य नभएको र माओवादीले आत्मसर्मपण गरून् भन्ने चाहेकाले यस्तो विचार आउनु स्वभाविक रहेको बताउनुभएको छ ।
