After a long ideological struggle, a new interim government is formed on 1 April 2007. It has paved a new way for further political development. CPN (Maoist) struggled day and night to make a 12-point agreement last year in Delhi and played a pivotol role in Nepali politics. Though it was too late to form a new government, yet it’s a historical acheivement as the historical 12-point agreement made in Delhi came into effect, since First April. The formation of the government has solved many unsolved queries and it for the first time institutionalized the spirit of popular movement that was based on the achievement of one decade long people’s war and 12-point agreement.

It basically fulfilled the desire of martyrs and is close to establish a federal democratic republic through the election of constituent assembly that would be held by Mid-June of this year. CPN (Maoist ) fought for complete democratic system and persuaded SPA for holding election and marginaliging the feudal monarch that ruled here for more than 238 years.

There’s nodoubt, the war on dialogue is much tougher than the war in the battlefield. Everyone knows the ruling class that swallowed the blood of many people wouldn’t be ready to dethrone from the power. Again, Nepali monarch that practised many conspiracies against Nepali people during the people’s war and peacetalk process to make everything unsuccess. The imperialist and feudalist did many unwanted effects to make the talk dismiss, but failed ultimately and people got glorious victory. Even today the reactionaries are hatchinng many ill-plots who never let the government hold the election in time and want to create political anarchy through violence and killings as in Gaur- Ruthat in which dozens of Maoists were inhumanly killed.

But, right now, the people’s war has developed a new concept, party guidelines and thought in order to lead the movement till it will get final victory. The SPA realized the objective necessity of this period and no power couldn’t stop the involvement of Maoist in interim government. Certainly, this is a victory of People’s Power and reactionaries got fully defeated who wanted to be a hurdle for this effort.

This government has a historical responsibility to hold the polls of constituent assembly by Mid–June through free and fair ways. The government has got every authority to fight against any forces that create the obstacles for the sheduled polls. Keeping this thing in mind the government has got a complete mandate to declare the republican set up in case the present king makes a hurdle in holding the election. This is also an achievement.

On this regard the present interim government is a historical milestone. And, this is a coalition government that inherits the revolutionary and progressive images in the government. Nepali people want to dismiss the so called divine traditional regime and establish their own government. The success of the government will be judged whether it hold the election in time or not. In this historical period everyone should support the government and apple-cart the plot of some handful royalists. In this situation the UN, international organizations, some countries etc are expressing their solidarity in order to make the undrgoing peaceprocess a complete success. Nepali people are fully committed to support the activities of the government and the cabinet shouldn’t undermine it anyway and ought to use time and resources to give everything the final touch. Honestly speaking, this the time to unite but not to divide. Hence, the government, political parties, civic societies, public administration, army, police, lawyers, journalists should join hands in hands to gain the single aim- election to constituent assembly. No doubt democratic republican setup is sure in Nepali soil.
