YCL leader brutually killed by notorious MJF

10706140323441page01Central Committee member of the Young Communist League (YCL) Binod Pant ‘Jitendra’ and YCL’s Rupandehi district secretariat member Sheshmani Lamichhane ‘Mani’ were abducted and brutually killed today by the murderer group Madhesi Janaadhikar Forum (MJF). Jitendra was also the YCL’s Lumbini zonal joint coordinator. Both were abducted by MJF killers as they were going to inspect the Khurdalotan Dam on the Nepal-India border today and killed later, Maoist Rupandehi district in-charge Nirmal Kumar said.

A home-made weapon, grenades, etc was used to kill Jitendra at Shivpur of Gowaha VDC at 11:00 am, while Mani was hanged from a tree before he was shot at 4:00 pm, YCL Bhairahawa in-charge Udaya said. Interim Parliament can now abolish monarchy

King can be removed if he conspires against the Constituent Assembly polls and assumes ‘executive powers’
Kathmandu, June 13:
For the first time in the history of Nepal, the Parliament today adopted a provision in the Constitution that will allow the House to abolish the monarchy if the King is found to be conspiring against the Constituent Assembly elections. Inserting the provision in Article 159 of the Interim Constitution of Nepal 2007, the House passed the second amendment bill of the Interim Constitution by two-thirds majority. A total of 281 members of the 329 seats of parliament had cast their votes favouring the amendment while only two members cast their votes against the bill. Jana Morcha Nepal’s MPs Pari Thapa and Nava Raj Subedi cast their votes against the amendment. The bill came into force immediately after Speaker Subas Nembang announced the amendment at 10.30 PM and authenticated the Bill. (more…)
