Crowning Brown: Why the ruling class in Britain needs a new face?
We all know that Gordon Brown has been one of the two top leaders of the Labour government for the last ten years. He has been directly involved in decision making processes at the highest levels of the political establishment in this country. Is it fair to say that Gordon Brown is also very much responsible for the conduct of the British government for the last decade? Unlike Robin Cook, Clair Short and some others he has never opposed Blair, has he? In fact, Gordon Brown and his clique in the leadership of the Labour Party and the government have overwhelmingly colluded with Tony Blair and his Clique to deceive people.
Now the ruling class in Britain needs a new face. Tony Blair is highly discredited and his stay in power is wearing down the ‘credibility’ of the state. British ruling class and its political structures were in crisis when they brought Tony Blair and the ‘New’ Labour to power. The ‘New’ party and the ‘New’ face helped the old state to overcome the crisis that Conservatives under John Major were unable to resolve. One of the major unresolved issues was the degree of collusion with other imperialist powers especially the US and Europe .
‘New’ Labour had resolved this contradiction by aligning mainly with the US , e.g. continuous military attacks and killer sanctions against Iraq . In the year 2000 Bush was elected, in fact selected by the US imperialists to implement the idea of ‘The American century’ and build their undisputed global empire. With this shift in the US ruling class politics the British ruling class under the ‘New’ Labour’ chose to hang on to the US imperialists shirt tail. Tailing and popularising US foreign policy was so rampant that it even created wider divisions among the British ruling class. Blair’s political relationship with Bush became very similar to the Mussolini’s relationship with Hitler not only on strategic objectives but also on the question of who should serve who. This new role earned the title of Puddle for Blair and contributed to his downfall from power.
Gordon Brown and Tony Blair, the two top leaders of the Labour Party, led the British government to attack and occupy both Afghanistan and Iraq . In the last ten years in Afghanistan they have supported Taliban and installed Karzi regimes against the people of Afghanistan through wars of aggression. Blair and Brown both jointly led many fabrication of pretexts for the US and British Governments to attack and occupy Iraq . The ruling class in Britain led by Blair and Brown hand in hand with the US ruling class has gang raped Iraq killing hundreds of thousands and torturing thousands of innocent Iraqi people. Whatever it was, now Iraq has lost its sovereignty, security, unity and hope for the future. Who are responsible for these crimes? Regarding Afghanistan and Iraq , in fact, Gordon Brown is a war criminal as Bush and Blair are.
The ruling class in Britain is trying very hard to convince people that Gordon Brown is different to Tony Blair although he has not opposed Blair publicly. Even if this is the case (Pigs fly!), only on the question of Iraq he has allowed Blair to deceive British people to occupy Iraq and murder innocent Iraqi people. What does that make him?
Also on the issues of ruling class corruption such as cash for honours and bribing prince Bandar of Saudi Arabia, squeezing civil liberties, 90 day detention without charge, ID cards, NHS reforms, two tear Education system, wrenching immigrants, Trident renewal, nuclear power generation, pensions, environment to name but a few, Brown has shown to be the other side of the same coin: an imperialist leader. Since Blair’s resignation, the ‘New Labour’ led by Brown has expressed its loyalty to Bush. Labour Government is the major proponents of installation of the US made missile interceptor system in Europe against Russia and also the preparation to attack Iran . The labour Party and government are imperialist in nature representing the interest of the British ruling class and now under Brown are following Blair’s politics: more suppression in Britain to prepare for future US led wars to re-divide the world.
